Pope Francis is in critical condition, Vatican announces.

Pope Francis, aged 88, is currently hospitalized at Rome's Gemelli Hospital due to a complex respiratory infection. His condition is critical, with both lungs affected by pneumonia. He is receiving high-flow oxygen therapy and blood transfusions to manage early signs of kidney failure. Despite the severity of his illness, the Pope remains conscious and has expressed gratitude for the global outpouring of prayers and support. The Vatican has indicated that while his condition is serious, there have been no further respiratory crises, and his hemoglobin levels have improved following treatment. Catholic communities worldwide continue to hold masses and vigils, praying for his swift recovery.
